It never fails – I come visit Our Lady of Guadalupe Abbey in Pecos, New Mexico – and I’m changed. Though I’ve visited many times, I get close to take my usual pics but I notice the same thing: peace, in a different capacity. My ability to let it soak in.
To be honest, I couldn’t tell you too much about the monastery, only that it’s beautiful and I like going there and also to the monastery lake. Please feel free to click on the link provided above for more info!
The Lady of Guadalupe is the first lovely art piece you see as you drive in to the premises. Sometimes, I find a parking space and will park like normal people, but this time, I just found a quick space I could use so that I could take a picture as I always do. I walked up gingerly, carefully, as if I didn’t want to disturb her peace, and tried to find the best frames to include her in, though it was the other way around. The surroundings wouldn’t do her justice, though the pines and somewhat cloudy weather, added some mystery behind her poses.
I walked away finally with the pic above and of course added some digital markups. Not that she needed any. After all, the markups happened within me as I take the pictures. I hope you all enjoyed this picture of the most holy mother and know that during the most challenging times, she’s always with us.
Many blessings, Sandi
