It’s been over a year. About a year and three months to be exact, since I last saw Nia. She is a part of our little family: Benji and Azra, my fur-kids. The way the separation happened doesn’t matter at this point. What does matter is her reaction to seeing me again. My reaction as a human wasn’t contained either. The only difference is I can’t make back flips, zoomies, and smile as cute as she does!
The reality is, when we are separated from our loving pets, whether they are literally ours, or just a part of our ‘sometimes’ family, it is very painful. And even if one month, or one year goes by, they never forget you, as a very special human in their life. Nia is my special furrrry human and always will be. I will be seeing her again today along with my kids, Benji and Azra. Maybe I’ll write an update on our second visit today as I’m hoping it actually takes place.
Folks, if you can, whatever the reason for your separation with your furkid’s know that it is possible to reconnect and stay connected. It’s worth the obstacles and discomfort with other humans to do so.
Until then, many blessings! Sandi
